The Illusion of Democracy
The Illusion of Democracy is a collaborative project between the University of Southampton and the UK Parliament, supported by the Parliamentary Archives at the Houses of Parliament.
Created around the 150th anniversary of the Secret Ballot Act of 1872, the project considers how surveillance capitalism and social media have changed the political information we consume.
The multimedia experience combines aesthetic performance, creative computing, VFX and prototyping to bring audiences close to the visual and auditory mechanics behind political information.
